Off the coast of Ecuador lie the volcanic wonders of the Galapagos Islands, a realm of endemic wildlife where Galapagos penguins, giant tortoises, land and marine iguanas, and sea lions thrive in their natural habitats. Discover this living laboratory of evolution aboard the Aqua Mare the only superyacht to sail the archipelago and experience up-close encounters with rare species as you hike remote trails, snorkel in pristine waters, and explore the islands’ dramatic volcanic shores.

Itinerary & Experiences

  1. Puerto Ayora & Santa Cruz Island – Embark on Santa Cruz Island, where your Galapagos adventure begins among the archipelago’s iconic giant tortoises and lush highlands. Explore the Fausto Llerena Breeding Center and observe these majestic creatures up close in their protected habitat before setting sail.

  4. Fernandina & Isabela Islands – Venture to Fernandina at Punta Espinoza, a haven for marine iguanas, sea lions, and flightless cormorants. Nearby Caleta Tagus offers more opportunities to encounter Galapagos fauna along the shore.

  5. Santiago Island & Playa Espumilla – Visit Santiago’s striking coastal sites such as Puerto Egas and Playa Espumilla, contrasting black lava beaches with rich tidal zones where shorebirds and marine life abound.

  7. Seymour Norte & Mosquera Islands – Discover the wildlife-rich islets of Seymour Norte and Mosquera, where sea lions, blue-footed boobies, and frigatebirds are frequent visitors and snorkeling reveals colorful reef ecosystems.

Season

January
December

The Galapagos Islands offer exceptional wildlife viewing and outdoor exploration all year round, thanks to a moderate equatorial climate with temperatures typically ranging between 21 °C and 30 °C.

The islands experience two distinctive seasons. The wet season runs from December through May, bringing warmer air and water, occasional brief showers, and lush vegetation in the highlands. The dry season from June to November has cooler air and water temperatures, with mist that nourishes greenery at higher elevations while keeping rainfall low along the coast.

Wildlife encounters are rewarding throughout the year, and different seasonal patterns bring unique highlights for hiking, snorkeling, and observing endemic species such as giant tortoises, marine iguanas, penguins, and seabirds.
